JEWELLERY CARE

Preserving the Lustre: A Care Guide

To ensure your House of Ibana pieces retain their heirloom quality, we recommend the following rituals of care:

The Final Touch: Apply your perfumes, hairsprays, and lotions before putting on your jewellery. The Ibana piece should be the first thing you take off when you get home and the last thing you wear when you leave home. Think of your House of Ibana pieces as the final flourish to your ensemble, protecting the gold plating from the harsh chemicals found in cosmetics

A Gentle Sanctuary: When not in use, store your jewellery in its original House of Ibana pouch. Put the jewellery piece in an air tight zip lock bag and then in a soft-lined plastic jewellery box. Keeping pieces separate prevents scratches and minimises exposure to moisture and oxygen, which can dull the silver's natural brilliance.

The Softest Cleanse: After each wear, gently wipe your piece with a soft, lint-free cloth or a specialised silver polishing cloth. This removes skin oils and environmental residue without wearing down the precious gold layer.

Avoid the Elements: Remove your jewellery before swimming, bathing, or rigorous exercise. Water (particularly chlorinated or salt water) and sweat can be abrasive to the micron plating over time.

Mindful Adornment: Treat your jewellery with the same grace with which it was made. Avoid wearing your pieces during heavy manual tasks to protect the delicate Jadau settings or intricate metalwork from physical impact.
